| Nigella Lawson is getting the party started with her delicious recipe for fairy cakes |
125g self-raising flour
125g unsalted butter, very, very soft but not actually melting
125g caster sugar
2 eggs
1-2 teaspoons good vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
few tablespoons milk
Cream the butter and sugar, then add beaten eggs, flour and other ingredients.
Use milk to bind. Preheat oven to gas mark 6/200°C. Line a 12-bun baking
tray with paper cases and divide mixture evenly.
Cook for 15-20 minutes and cool on a wire rack. Decorate with royal icing.
