Everyone loves a good party – and throwing one for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research gives you the perfect excuse! All the best parties require a little bit of planning, so to help you along we’ve done the thinking for you – just use our checklist below to make sure you’re very own Un-Birthday event goes with a bang!

Choose a date and venue
Think about how much space you’ll need. Could you hold an un-birthday event at home, work, the local pub or even outside in the park?

Register your event
Click here to register your event. If you register you could also be in with a chance to win your very own un-birthday party thrown for you by Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and the Royal Garden Hotel, London.

Decide on a theme
What about a fancy dress or office party, a mother and toddler day, a dinner dance or even a good old-fashioned tea party?

Invite your guests
We’ll provide you with colourful un-birthday party invitations to send to your guests. Invite everyone you know and ask them to invite their friends too.

Set your fundraising target
Decide how much money you’d like to raise. You could charge for tickets to your event and raise more funds by holding some fundraising activities on the day too!

Promote your event
Use our eye-catching posters to help advertise your event to friends, family and your local community. If you’re planning on inviting members of the public, ask your local newspaper or radio to help promote the event.

Ask your sponsors for Gift Aid
This means we get an extra £28 for every £100 you raise, for free. Simply download a Gift Aid form for your guests to fill in and send it back to us with your total raised.

Ask your employer to match fund?
Many employers operate a matching-funding scheme and will be able to match £ for £ all the money you raise. So if you raise £100, they’ll make a donation of £100 too!

Fundraising at your event
To help you raise more funds at your party, here are a few ideas to help you along:

*Contact local businesses and ask them to donate prizes for a raffle, auction or tombola.

*Ask your guests to take part in a quiz and pay £1 to enter.

*Hold a cake sale or ask a local bakery to donate some goodies to sell.

*If your party is held at school, ask to mark the event with a non-uniform day. Everyone pays £1 to wear whatever they like.
