In June 2009 WH Marks Sattin selected Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research as their first ever charity partner.
The accountancy and financial recruitment specialists aim to raise over £3,000 during the partnership.
To launch the partnership WH Marks Sattin held a wear red day, a cake bake and a slave auction. Staff enjoyed bidding for their colleagues to undertake tasks for them which varied from tea making to shoe shining! The day raised over £500 and with more events planned, including a quiz night and a sports day, they hope this total will soon double.
Managing Director, Dave Way, explains their reasons for supporting the charity.
"We are delighted to be working with Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research as we wanted everyone at WH Marks Sattin to come together for a common goal, to raise money to fund vital research and improve treatments for blood cancer patients. There has been a fantastic response from everyone in the company, within days of the announcement a charity committee had formed, activities where planned and people have been putting themselves forward for all kinds of sports events."
