Beefy’s Great Forget Me Not Walk-

Join Sir Ian Botham as he celebrates 25 years of walking for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Sir Ian, our President, is leading with his feet in our 50th year! He will be stepping out on ‘Beefy’s Great Forget Me Not Walk’ in April 2010.

Beefy started walking 25 years ago. He was inspired by a group of teenagers with leukaemia who he met in hospital and has since raised over £10million for research into childhood leukaemia.

Sir Ian Botham*“My walk in 2010 will be extra special for me as it marks 25 years since I did my first walk, and also the special 50th birthday for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. The forget-me-not is the flower chosen by the Eastwoods, the family who first started fundraising 50 years ago in memory of their daughter.

I certainly haven’t forgotten the boys I first met in 1985, and since then all the other patients I’ve had the honour of meeting. I never forget why I put myself through the pain and blisters; I know it will mean in the future that every child and teenager diagnosed with one of these cancers will survive. I won’t stop until it does.”

Join Beefy on this walk. Details about Beefy’s Great Forget Me Not Walk are available at Beefy's Great Forget-Me-Not Walk.
